Second Sunday at Stetson’s Concert Series

The Stetson Kennedy Foundation and Lullaby of the Rivers are excited to welcome internationally acclaimed singer/songwriter Duffy Bishop as their next featured artist for the next Second Sunday at Stetson’s concert!

Duffy Bishop is a genre-defying, take-no-prisoners performer whose charisma, authentic voice, and ferocious stage presence make her an unforgettable live experience. Influenced by the full spectrum of American music—from Memphis Minnie and Judy Garland to Ella Fitzgerald, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, and David Bowie—Duffy has spent a long and remarkable career creating music that crosses boundaries and defies labels. 

Now based in Florida, Duffy and her longtime collaborator, guitarist, singer/songwriter, and husband Chris Carlson, have made music across the USA and around the world, including Norway, Hong Kong, Japan, and Austria. Their Florida roots run deep, with Duffy’s latest album, I’m Gonna Do What I Want, produced by Duffy, Chris Carlson, and engineer Jim DeVito at Retrophonics Studios in Crescent Beach, FL. Over the years, Duffy has shared stages with legendary artists including Etta James, Ruth Brown, Lou Rawls, Bo Diddley, and The Neville Brothers. Her remarkable career was chronicled in the 2010 documentary Who Is Duffy Bishop and Why Is She Not World Famous? This performance will be held indoors, and no reservations are required. Seating is limited to the first 50 guests, so arriving early is encouraged.

A suggested donation of $10 per person helps support the ongoing mission of bringing high-quality live folk and acoustic music to our community.

Visitors are also invited to enjoy tours of Stetson Kennedy’s historic home before and after the concert.
